iLLism – “iLL Vibes”

iLLism are a duo specializing in R&B and hip-hop, with new track “iLL Vibes” expressing a sound reminiscent of ’90s hip-hop from the get-go, with nostalgic static of a radio dial and a DJ personality kicking things off. The initial hip-hop delivery and beat reminds fondly of Kendrick Lamar’s Section.80, particularly the excellent track “Chapter Six”. Both vocalists show eclectic ability as they alternate between fluid hip-hop and entrancing R&B flows, swapping lead vocal parts during the verses as they converge for the infectiously dazzling chorus. “iLL Vibes” is a well-done track from this rising duo, for sure.
