Colvin – “Nightmare”

Hailing from Bellwood, IL, Colvin is an artist with a fascination for horror films, futuristic R&B, and urban pop. His new track “Nightmare” is the first installment of his Dreams of a Songwriter series, a series of EPs and small projects that are autobiographical in nature. “Nightmare”, with its horror-film-themed hook and suave R&B verses, works around the theme of a fairy tale’s underlying darkside. “In order to appreciate the rainbow, you have to endure the rain,” he explains, stressing that though times may be dark, it doesn’t necessarily make them wrong. It’s a smooth-gliding track with cool horror-film effects in the hook, a nice starting point for the promising Colvin.
