Darcie is the Manchester-based duo project of multi-instrumentalist Tom Donaldson and singer-songwriter Zigi Porter, who combine for a powerful sound on new track “Litter”, a rousing showing of charismatic vocals and late-night pop that melds aspects of electronica with more traditional instrumentation. The track’s chorus – “my playlists are littered with you,” – succeeds on every front, enhancing the moody verses (which touts some Alessia Cara vibes) into an infectious crooner. The finale, starting around 02:43, also shifts the tone a bit for a striking result. The duo has an EP out later this year, in addition to music videos and more singles.
