Kachinga – “BC”

Based out of London, Ontario, Kachinga is a genre-bending hip-hop act who has been at work on his recently released album Sky Falling for three years, originally while in the collective Skool City and now as the lead artist, along with production team Lava Cru and backed by Three Entertainment Group. Kachinga describes the album as “inspired by a journey of loss and learning, the struggle to find a balance between the good and the bad in life, and serves as a reminder to find the good within the bad and to acknowledge and accept the bad with the good.”

One of the release’s highlights is its opener “BC”, which starts with a serene piano and leads into string-laden accompaniments and evolving percussion. The overall beat is in the realm of Frank Ocean’s lushest material. Overall, it’s an enticing start to an album that’s quite accomplished, and streaming in full below:
