Armonite – “By Heart”

A recent signee of Cleopatra Records, instrumental prog-rockers Armonite are releasing their new album And The Stars Above on May 25th, stylistically gearing toward soundtrack music with ample, immediate textures that have eclectic appeal. The album’s release is preceded by the track and video “By Heart”, a nice showing from the classically trained duo of Jacopo Bigi (acoustic and electric violin) and Paolo Fosso (piano and keyboards). After a quaint initial 30 seconds, the track kicks into full gear. Strings and ample percussion lead a lively jaunt, aesthetically reminiscent of Mahavishnu Orchestra and World’s End Girlfriend. It’s the type of exciting track that makes me anticipate its respective release, out May 25th.
