Broken Waves – “Summer Dream”

/

“Summer Dream” is a hazy, jangly track from Broken Waves, a group headed by songwriter/guitarist/vocalist Tyler Stryker and comprising musicians that are New Jersey natives, and who met in Southwest Florida. The languid, hypnotic allure is reminiscent of Real Estate, while Stryker’s vocals exude a sort of haunting, Ed Droste-like quality. “Am I your summer dream” he sings, “when the sun is slowly sinking?” More emphasis on the guitar work arrives just prior to the three-minute mark, riding this gem out with atmospheric allure.

“Summer Dream” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of August 2018’ Spotify playlist.
