The lush “Dull Inside” is a captivating new track from Floral Couches, the Chicago-based project that impressed last year with late-night groover “Ketamine Dreaming.” Pursuing an R&B-inspired vein of synth-pop, “Dull Inside” grows from standalone keys and hypnotic percussion into glistening use of synth arpeggios; at this point, around 01:18, the track’s melody is affirmed as dreamy and captivating. The serene vocals add a nice touch to the atmosphere, which is again fit for late-night comedowns. Another success for Floral Couches, most certainly.
