Jackie Moontan – “Pink Morning”

/

“Pink Morning” is the opening track from Jackie Moontan’s latest release, this summer’s Zoo EP. The vocals tout a confident, funk-ready swagger, the melody riding on a key-laden bounciness that shows a festive feel. The effervescent hook – “maybe you and me just weren’t meant to be,” – at the one-minute mark impresses with its melodic presence, with the track’s finale seeing the addition of several synth lines alongside some wordless vocal bopping. Aesthetically, I’m reminded of Dent May and Benji Hughes.
