Lara Antebi – “Here and Gone”

/

Lara Antebi’s new track “Here and Gone” is a fine piece of songwriting, a key-driven pop track from her third self-produced album Here and Gone, released on September 20. The Montreal-based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist has a penchant for catchy and dreamy melodies.. Specifically, this track’s general vibe reminds of the spacey pop on The Beach Boys’ “Solar System“. A shift into smoother, more late-night territory is marked by a tenor saxophone addition toward the end, with a ’60s organ helping tidy off the twinkling conclusion. “Here and Gone” succeeds both in its atmosphere and yearning, understated pop-friendly hookiness.

“Here and Gone” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2018’ Spotify playlist.
