NIGHTMØDE – “Penthouse Refugees”

/

NIGHTMØDE, the project of Nashville-based producer Matt Kass (The Brakes, Modern Inventors), impresses with new track “Penthouse Refugees.” The track touts a psych-friendly, spacey electro vibe, propelled by a driving bass line, soaring synths, and melodic vocals. The more subdued verses ride on this rumbling bass and dashes of synths, while the dazzling chorus (hitting especially well at 01:47) captivates with infectious allure.

Per Matt, the project “was intended for people to listen to this music at night, preferably under headphones so they can focus on the vibe and sonic landscape that I’ve created.” Effectively, the project features catchy melodies while still emphasizing gripping soundscapes.
