Jonie – “say whatever”

As a dreary Monday arrives, sometimes a dose of catchy funk-tinged electro-pop can be a great caffeine-like antidote. For that, consider Jonie’s new track “say whatever” — a grooving track with flourishes of disco, funk, and fervent pop. Bright synths and house-inspired beats accompany suave and spirited vocals, accompanied by a funky slap-bass that rides seamlessly alongside the vibrant synths. The effort is just what you need to flip a dull Monday into a more dance-laden one.

The project is that of Nashville, TN-based Joseph Barrios, who’s also host of Yadee Yadah: The Music Podcast.

“say whatever” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of November 2018’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Indie Funk and Soul.
