Henry Hall – “Missing Out on Purpose”

Henry Hall’s latest is a moving crooner featuring creaky acoustics and piano smatterings, reminiscent aesthetically of Grizzly Bear. From brisk hook-filled rockers like “Comfort Zone” to quainter more folk-inclined efforts like “Missing Out on Purpose”, Henry Hall has already proven to be capable of stirring, eclectic songwriting. The final one-third of “Missing Out on Purpose” is especially moving, with various vocal layers meshing dramatically over subtle percussion and haunting guitars. Another success for this rising project.

“Missing Out on Purpose” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of December 2018’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Indie Folk.
