Premiere: solomonophonic – “The Carol In Her Eyes”

/

Brooklyn-based artist artist Jared Solomon heads the music project solomonophonic, whose superb just-released track “The Carol In Her Eyes” is one we’re thrilled to premiere. Solomon shows a great knack for melody here, the verses’ high-pitched funk-tinged vocals leading into a dazzling, effervescent chorus with seamless precision. The mellow pulsation of keys plays nicely with charismatic guitar licks throughout, as Solomon’s melodic smarts becomes especially evident in the vocal melody’s progression. “I wrote this song about my roommate, whose eyes look strange and weird when she wears glasses,” Solomon says. “When she takes them off, she has piercing beautiful eyes.”

“The Carol In Her Eyes” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of December 2018’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Catchy Indie Pop.
