Sal Dulu – “Xompulse”

/

Irish producer Sal Dulu impresses again with the atmospheric “Xompulse.” Following up on successes like “Duluoz Dream,” “Antasma,” and “Tyko.” Classical, jazz and ambient influences appear strongly in this calming piano piece. The first half feels submerged and aquatic, a lulling and reverbed piano lead pushing along. The second half sees some brighter, more effervescent piano additions, as the concluding melody shifts up and down, down and up in pitch. “Xompulse” reminds of Ryuichi Sakamoto’s more atmospheric efforts.

“Xompulse” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of January 2019’ Spotify playlist.
