Amo Amo – “When I Look at You”

/

Los Angeles act Amo Amo recorded their forthcoming debut album in an old house, close to Santa Barbara’s vineyards and out of cell phone range. The setting was appropriate for producing such a contemplative, gripping sound, one that sounds focused without distraction. The act formed in 2017, when vocalists Omar and Love were joined by Justin, Shane and Alex for an “impromptu session” with My Morning Jacket’s Jim James. From there, the band took their collaborative chemistry full on, culminating in a series of tracks and eventually the debut album, releasing later this year. New track “When I Look at You” is a quality indication of their sound, a hypnotic success with beautiful intermingling vocal harmonies and graceful touches of keys/synths. Amo Amo produce a very promising, vivid psych-pop sound.

“When I Look at You” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of February 2019’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Serene Rainy Days.
