American Wolf – “Not My Life”

/

“Not My Life” is another stellar success from American Wolf, the Chicago-based artist who impressed with lush electro-pop gem “Lust For Loss” in October. Fully embracing a hazy, chillwave aesthetic, “Not My Life” rides on ethereal, yearning vocals accompanied by synths on both the effervescent and bass-forward ends of the spectrum, tonally. The verses float serenely to an even more tranquil bridge just after the one-minute mark, where the rhythms subside somewhat to make way for the hypnotic, successful conclusion. This is a track that’s quite easy to get lost in, as has been the case with American Wolf releases thus far.

“Not My Life” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of March 2019’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Lush Indie Electronic.
