Daydream – “Honey”

//

Oakland band Daydream show an enjoyable rock sound on new track “Honey,” recalling the alternative/power-pop sound of Teenage Fanclub with a simple yet memorable vocal lead and brightly melodic guitar work. The track comes via the band’s upcoming release Melt Into You. The vocals recall nostalgia in their tone and lyrics, repeating “this old place is not the same,” prior to the entry of a soaring guitar solo. “Honey” is a straight-cutting, infectious rocker with a replay-friendly melodic allure.

“Honey” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of June 2019’ Spotify playlist.
