Go Hawaii – “Powwow”

/

Glistening, jangly guitars and a husky vocal presence pave the way on “Powwow,” the first single from Go Hawaii’s forthcoming album. “In writing this, we wanted to recreate the experience of a blissful moment that leaves you with a taste of melancholy,” the band says. They successfully incorporate guitar jangles and wistful synths amidst the husky vocals, conjuring a sound that reminds of acts like The Chameleons UK and The Psychedelic Furs. Moments alone with the vocals and nostalgic synths play nicely in developing an anticipatory feel, so the jangly guitar-pop hits resonate with memorable allure. “Powwow” is a solid release from Go Hawaii.

“Powwow” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of June 2019’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Lush, Suave/Slacker, + Jangle-Rock.
