Ivan Beecroft – “Inequality”

/

After impressing with the track “Sleepwalker” in 2017, Australian rocker Ivan Beecroft returns with the album Liars, Freaks & Fools. “The music I am currently creating is…going back to my roots in rock and blues, which is why I initially started playing in bands, as I was interested in guitar rock from the ’80s and ’90’s,” the artist says. “It’s a very important transition from my earlier releases as it shows a more pub rock style that was typically around in Australia in the ’80s as I really want to turn people back onto this type of music.”

Ivan’s working class background, and his experience working as a steel worker, results in lyrical content that echoes the class warfare and corruption rampant in government and bureaucracies. As such, the album’s opening track, “Inequality,” is a strong statement that addresses “the ever-widening gap between the haves and have nots.” Beecroft’s powerful vocal presence coincides with angsty guitar distortion, touching on grunge and alternative within his engaging sound.
