Jacob on the Moon – “Again”

/

“Again” is a striking track from Jacob on the Moon, an artist and producer crafting music from his home studio in Chicago. With a full debut EP releasing this summer, “Again” shows a promising aesthetic, in the same ballpark as Washed Out, Toro y Moi, and other purveyors of electronic pop with chilled-out sentiments. The tranquil vocals and mellow synths see the occasional touches of guitars, though primarily leads through spacey synths. The “when the sun comes up,” vocal hook shows an atmospheric yearning that plays well. An additional synth line emerges just prior to the three-minute mark, though “Again” is primarily a electro-pop groover with a repeating, hypnotic allure.

“Again” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of June 2019’ Spotify playlist.
