Exuding melodic slacker-rock vibes reminiscent of Kurt Vile, “yellow pack” is a jangly gem from url. The solo project of Orlando, FL-based Matt Bullard, url strives to infuse bedroom-pop sentiments with a touch of R&B. “yellow pack” is the project’s third single. “I combine the quirkiness of bedroom pop production with dreamy guitars and a slight psychedelic twist,” Bullard explains. “The instrumentation is simple, but potent. It revolves around a relationship that ends in a sad boy summer.” The track’s suave vocal presence, jangling guitars, and mellow vibes represent an effort fit for a hazy summer Saturday afternoon.

The project’s previous track, “people/whatever,” is another recommended one, this one showing Foxygen vibes:

“yellow pack” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of July 2019’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Lush, Suave/Slacker, + Jangle-Rock.
