Premiere: And The Beast – “The Gate”

//

The project of German producer Philipp Peltz and Danish singer Amy Horn, And The Beast crafts a haunting sound with synthwave, trip-hop, and rock influences. Citing influences such as Portishead, Kavinsky, Moloko, and Trentemøller, the duo impress with the new track “The Gate.” Nighttime guitar tones twinkle in the beginning, as Horn’s gripping vocals emerge alongside a throbbing synth tone. The one-minute mark sees a ghostly synth pad and percussive clacking. Deeply ruminating synth leads hit around a minute later, leading into a serenely engaging conclusion with a cathedral-like presence. Dreamy yet invigorating, “The Gate” is an effort we’re happy to premiere from And The Beast.
