Ikes Creek – “Achilles’ Checkered Past”

Up, Rising is the new album from Ikes Creek, a Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter specializing in Americana roots rock. “My roots Americana music reflects the deep-seated love of my Northern Idaho roots, mirrored in my gratitude for my friends and family who have shaped me into the man I am,” the artist explains. “Achilles’ Checkered Past” is among my favorite cuts, especially for its intertwining of brass, rousing vocals, and shimmering guitars. The “drove his troubles away,” refrain plays with melodic allure.

The track is a nice hint of what to expect from this pleasant Americana album, streaming on all major streaming platforms, as well as below:

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Indie Folk.
