Biiko & ttypes – “Mixee”

“Mixee” is a lushly consuming track from Biiko and ttypes, two artists from Grand Rapids, MI. Sporting a nocturnal feel with crawling bass and sparse keys over lush keys, “Mixee” grows into haunting beauty past the one-minute mark, when a synth arp and backing vocals converge. “Mixee” is another stellar collaboration from Biiko and ttypes.

The second single collaboration from Biiko and ttypes, “Mixee” aesthetically touches on jazz, lounge, and chill indie electronica. The artists describe the track as “a sad and nostalgic number on the boundary between love-song and breakup-song.”

Biiko wrote, arranged, and recorded the entirety of the backing track. ttypes handled the vocals and lyrics, which are “inspired by the often hopeless attempts to rekindle past relationships.”

“Mixee” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of January 2020’ Spotify playlist.
