Rio Tigre – “Tornado”

/

The captivating “Tornado” is a track that Rio Tigre wrote between Paris and Brooklyn. Serene vocals, nocturnal synths and percussive click-clacking do well in conjuring a distinctively late-night feel. In writing between two different time zones, sometimes a more nocturnal sound can emerge, as day/night becomes more blurred together. Whether that was the case with this track remains to be seen, though its atmospheric pull is certainly undeniable. Steady organs and vocals expand to a bass-laden richness, with full-sounding synths taking over in the second half. “Tornado” is exceedingly easy to get lost within.

“Tornado” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of March 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Electronic.
