Personal Igloo – “Time To Be”

/

From Auckland-based songwriter and producer Personal Igloo, “Time To Be” is a bouncy pop track described by the artist as “about the realisation of the times we live in, and how we are all obsessed with maximising pleasure.” The main vocal hook — “I never thought I’d see the time to be alive, but who could believe that paradise would melt the ice,” — plays with melodic charm throughout, even while emitting a brutal societal truth. Synth-laden additions around the two-minute mark add further to the track’s engrossing mix. Accessible and addictive, “Time To Be” is a fun success from Personal Igloo.

“Time To Be” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of April 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Pop.
