Impressing last month with the track “Lungs,” The Mighty Orchid King release another success with “Head.” The suave guitar twangs and enveloping bass line combine with the vocals to fondly recall Talking Heads. A synth flourish bridges into the wholly infectious chorus, with a melodic guitar burst more so conjuring ’90s Brit-pop. As is evident, the track plays like a decade-hopping rocker with ample hook-friendly appeal, particularly thanks to the spirited chorus. Look for the band’s album to release later this year.
