Prudence – “Heart Sways”

The gorgeous “Heart Sways” is a new track from Prudence, the project of Australian musician and multi-instrumentalist Tom Crandles. Previously impressing with the Major Tom EP last year, “Heart Sways” suggests another productive year is in store for Crandles. Swirling keys and jangly guitars assemble a fully engrossing intro, with murky vocals pleasantly leading to a catching “your mood swings,” hook that glides into a guitar-laden shimmer. The guitar-forward expansion at 02:23 is particularly illuminating. “Heart Sways” is another riveting, stylistically smart success from Prudence.

This lush dream-pop gem marks the project’s first release to be recorded in studio with the full band. The release is also accompanied by an aptly trippy video, shot, edited, and directed by photographer McLean Stephenson.

“Heart Sways” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Dream-Pop.
