Stars in Coma – “Digital and Analog Gods”

/

Stars in Coma return with another excellent piece of pop songwriting. “Digital and Analog Gods” comes via the EP The Internet Mausoleum, streaming in full below. Following successes like “Subtraction Exercises” and “Destroying the Love,” this five-song EP is another showcase in hooky pop goodness. From the understated haunting jangle of “Raised by Boomers” to the peppier synth-pop push of “Digital and Analog Gods,” the EP is a stellar output from this always-impressive Swedish act.

Regarding the EP, frontman André Brorsson writes: “This five song EP was written quickly after spending some time away from social media in early 2020. At the time, it seemed like a nice thing to enjoy the real world a bit more. However, with the current situation, it seems I crave social media and online communities more than ever due to the collapse of the physical world. The single “Digital and Analog Gods” is an upbeat pop song that touches upon the subject of nostalgia in the light of early/mid-era internet phenomena such as Myspace and the Second Life.”

“Digital and Analog Gods” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2020’ Spotify playlist.
