Monz – “They Don’t Know” (feat. Darrell Medellin)

/

“They Don’t Know” is an infectious hip-hop success from Monz, featuring Darrell Medellin. A forceful lead carries into a melodic vocal hook at the 50-second mark, detailing the artistic grind. 02:11 sees a striking twist, with clanging keys and an invigorating, impressive vocal flow. A twangy guitar addition comes toward the conclusion, adding a fun prog-rock feel. “They Don’t Know” captivates with its evolving structure, consuming production, and infectious vocal flows.

Monz elaborates more on the track below:

“This is the follow up single to my upcoming EP. This song was written pre-covid19 and it details the struggles of just being an artist. Starting out, working on your craft, and having that passion. It’s about reaching the point of whether or not you want to go all in in whatever form of art that you are in. But above all else its about just putting your work out there and showing a greater audience your voice and representing where you come from.”

“They Don’t Know” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of June 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Hip-Hop.
