Jack Boyd – ‘By Your Side’ EP

Following the impressive Fever EP, featured in March, Jack Boyd returns with another EP in By Your Side. Jangly guitars and playful synths provide opener “Heart Attack” with a catchy feel from the get-go, with further synth-laden expansion at the mid-point adding enjoyable atmosphere. The Austin, TX-based artist shows here and throughout the Fever EP an ability to seamlessly mesh guitars, lush vocals, and spacey synth tones. “Figure It Out” plays with dreamy charm, with a spacious and more nocturnal synth lead alongside mounting, climatic percussion. The self-titled track concludes the EP with a lush electro-folk feel. Mark that as two very successful EPs from Boyd so far in 2020.
