Max Gowan – “Pitter Patter”

//

“Pitter Patter” shows the consuming, affecting sound of Max Gowan, producing a guitar-forward meshing of rock and folk. There are shades of The Replacements in the aesthetic. A blend of acoustics and twangy reflections lead to a breezy vocal presence. The “I’m not gonna leave you now,” line leading into the “pitter-patters of my heart,” hook makes for an especially memorable moment. Gowan, who produced and recorded the track at his home, impresses with a memorable sound throughout.

“Pitter Patter” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of August 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Folk.
