The Cole Patenaude Band – “Are You Happy Now?”

/

Bluesy, soulful rocker “Are You Happy Now?” is nicely exemplary of The Cole Patenaude Band‘s talents. Specifically, their new full-length album of the same name shows a timeless sound throughout, touching on everything from heavier blues in the self-titled track to country ditties like “For the Money” and lush folk on “How to Love.” “Are you happy now?” the vocals ask confidently over whirring organs and crunchy guitars in the self-titled track’s hook — leading back seamlessly into the suave, chugging verses. A mid-point guitar solo is the cherry on top. The Vancouver, BC-based artist shows depth throughout the release, while retaining a sense of passion and accessibility.
