Smmr Cmp – “Heather”

Delightfully catchy with a replay-inducing bounciness, “Heather” is a new track from Los Angeles-based duo Smmr Cmp. Peppy guitars and yearning vocals lead into serene keys around the 40-second mark, gearing into the irresistible title-referencing chorus. “Heather, believe me when I say, you’re not alone,” the vocals ring out amidst dreamy guitar tones. “Heather” is an addictive, wonderfully produced track that assuredly puts Smmr Cmp on my radar.

The duo write that the track “encapsulates this feeling of separation and yearning that we all dealt with in 2020.”

“Heather” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of January 2021’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Pop.
