Cosmopolis – “The Distances”

Showing a suave, artful vein of rock in the vein of Talking Heads and David Bowie, “The Distances” is a recent track from Cosmopolis. The band’s third single is a hypnotic journey, expanding from spacious click-clacking into soaring, moving moments, like the vocal multi-layering emerging past the one-minute mark. A bouncier guitar-driven segment around 03:45 adds brightness to the relatively dark mix, while retaining a generally hypnotic mood via the wandering guitar lines and loose vocal harmonizing. “The Distances” is a testament to Cosmopolis’ creative, atmospheric rock sound.

“The Distances” and other memorable tracks from October can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2020’ Spotify playlist.
