sweethearts – “do you love me?”

///

Touting a nostalgic sound reminiscent of punk-leaning ’90s alternative, “do you love me?” is a catchy new track from sweethearts. The UK-based band note influences like Pavement, Weezer, and “personal favourites” The Pixies. Certainly sounding like a fit on the American Pie soundtrack, “do you love me?” wins over easily with fuzzy guitars, a harmonious vocal duet, and catching title-referencing chorus. “Or am I no one?” the vocals ask just prior to the chorus, building enjoyably to the chorus. A playful guitar-based bridge past the two-minute mark adds nicely. “do you love me?” is a fun blast of melodic nostalgia from sweethearts.

“do you love me?” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of February 2021’ Spotify playlist.
