Shiloh Mae – “Smoke Signals”

/

“Smoke Signals” is a newly released track from Shiloh Mae, an emerging Bay Area singer/songwriter. The initial lyrics convey a retrospective yearning, with lushly entrancing vocals and dreamy acoustics assembling enjoyably. The “every time you close your eyes,” bridge plays with emotive, passionate captivation — differentiating the melody at a precise, satiating moment. Yearning vocal tone and fluttering acoustics are joined enjoyably by trickling guitars just prior to the 50-second mark. The vocals assume a more relaxed, soaring quality here, before ascending with punchy charm as the twangier guitar extensions flourish past the one-minute mark. “Smoke Signals” enchants throughout.

Previously, Shiloh Mae wrote and played with her band, Bird and Willow, formed with her brother Jared. Shiloh has now also performed alongside Zach Winters, Josiah Johnson (previously of The Head and the Heart), and Landon Elliott.

Shiloh is currently preparing her debut EP with Bay Area producer Justin Kawashima.

“Smoke Signals” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of March 2021’ Spotify playlist.
