Sophie Coran – “S P A C E”

/

The latest success from Philly-based “Noir & B” artist Sophie Coran, “S P A C E” shows a soulful brand of poppy R&B, infusing riveting vocals, luxurious strings, and jazzy rhythms. Glistening keys and bass-laden intensity surround charismatic vocals in the verses, building to a satisfying chorus. A touch of bossa nova at the two-minute mark adds enjoyably. “S P A C E” is another melodic and aesthetic success from Coran.

“S P A C E” represents the sixth and final single from Coran’s upcoming debut album of the same name. The artist has impressed prior with tracks “Circles” and “I Could Be Your.”

Coran says the following about the track:

“This song is about taking time for yourself. I was doing a bit of soul searching after I sensed a relationship I had put so much weight into probably wouldn’t work out. I got really inspired by the metaphor of outer space and how vast the universe is. I love to write about the elements, especially water, so this was something new to delve into. It’s also one of the more uptempo songs I’ve written, which was a fun challenge to explore.”

“S P A C E” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of March 2021’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Soul.
