Remedies – “Holler”

“Holler” is a haunting synth-forward track from Remedies, the third single release ahead of the Northern Norway-based duo’s album. The nostalgic tones and bristling synth-bass concoct vibes reminiscent of Depeche Mode, while the vocals showcase a uniquely powerful energy of their own. The enveloping synth arpeggio at 02:30 plays with an engrossing mystique. This track and the preceding “Psycho Scent” both show a commendable ability to construct hauntingly melodic soundscapes, fit for chilly, dark nights. Remedies have thus far succeeded with atmospheric and melodic smarts throughout their consuming songwriting and production.

“Holler” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2021’ Spotify playlist.
