Karras – “Tonight”

/

Following up the impressive “Anything Except For Me,” released earlier this month, Midwestern alternative rapper Karras is back with another success. “Tonight” features a murky, intriguing overall soundscape and fantastic vocal flow throughout. The industrial, nocturnal vibe consumes. Eerie strings and vocals pack a strong punch in the intro, escalating to a faster-paced delivery amidst a spacey synth-laden backing, reminiscent of Shabazz Palaces. The “tonight, tonight,” punctuation on the chorus plays with delightfully ghostly qualities. “Tonight” diversifies nicely between spacious eeriness and impressive, intense flows, marking another success from Karras.

“‘Tonight’ is just me having fun writing wordplay about various things I’m intrigued by,” Karras says. “It ranges from religion, Pagan rituals and Druids to horror movie themes, alcohol and hallucinogenic mushrooms to horror movie themes.”

“Tonight” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of June 2021’ Spotify playlist.
