Gregory Abbott – “Summer in the City”

“Summer in the City” is a mellow, grooving new single from Gregory Abbott, the songwriter known especially for his work in the ’80s, notably platinum single, “Shake You Down.” “Summer in the City” continues to showcase Abbott’s soulful vocals and strong songwriting. The track’s chorus — “warm wind blowing, not a worry in sight,” — aptly captures the track overall vibe, letting go of stresses and choosing instead to make lovely memories on a Saturday night in the city. Born in Harlem and now based in California, Gregory Abbott continues onward with pleasant tracks like these.

“We have had more than our share of stress lately,” Abbott says. “In light of this, and with the winter months behind us, I thought it would be nice to write a warm weather song. One where we remember our connection to each other and more importantly to love.”

“Summer in the City” and other memorable tracks from June can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of June 2021’ Spotify playlist.
