Colourmusic – “Eaters Of The Sun”

//

The delightfully murky “Eaters Of The Sun” is a new track from Oklahoma-based band Colourmusic. A hypnotic percussive pulse leads into emotive vocals and textural guitars, showing aspects of rock and post-punk. A soft key glistening around the one-minute mark lends a gentle, aquatic feeling that contrasts enjoyably with the ensuing post-punk and rock gauziness. A vocal rise around the two-minute turn is another notable moment, the bass-y guitar throbbing and passionate vocal yearning playing with especially consuming qualities. “Eaters Of The Sun” shows a mysteriously intoxicating sound from Colourmusic.

Look out for the band’s upcoming full-length, Thank Goodness Hell is Easy To Get Into.

“Eaters Of The Sun” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of September 2021’ Spotify playlist.
