TARA – “Light Again”

/

Impressing with multiple past tracks like “Wander” and “Oceans,” Brooklyn-based band TARA continue their memorable dream-pop sound with their latest, “Light Again.” As one of their final two singles, “Light Again” reminds of the project’s impressive knack for melodic hooks within a glistening, dreamy aesthetic. Lush vocals and a swirling backing key arpeggio assemble around a hypnotic rhythm section, rising alongside jangly guitars during the beautiful hook. The final minute rewards with a convergence of the aforementioned layers, before settling into a dreamy haze.

The band writes: “The song is about the complex dynamics of a relationship and how breaking up and then reuniting again can take such a toll on us but, perhaps it’s worth it?”

“Light Again” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of September 2021’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Dream-Pop.
