“Is This Happening?” is the consuming opener to The Furious Seasons‘ new album, Home All Day, Home All Night. The Los Angeles-based act conjures a memorable sound with folk and Americana tints. “Is This Happening?” is kickstarted by twangy guitar warmness and relaxed vocals. “Time measured in years has always felt different than time in my mind,” David Steinhart sings, building enjoyably to a rise past the one-minute mark. “Well, we ride this weathered carousel. Is this happening?” A playful guitar-laden melody peeks through as the three-minute mark approaches, adding to the song’s all-around warmness and breezy melodic congeniality.
