A mellow and soulful synth-pop success, “Edge of Heaven” is another striking track from The Mietus Touch, via the album Transcendental Souvenirs. The project, aka Joseph Mietus, impressed a few weeks back with fellow album cuts “Digits” and “Send Soul”; “Edge of Heaven” presents a laid-back approach, comparatively. Tender guitars and escalating vocals at the mid-point drive to pleas to “think it over,” the concluding “let’s try to find ourselves tonight,” hook resonating with ample melodic pull. Transcendental Souvenirs impresses throughout with a variety of smooth and punchy synth-pop.
