Released today from hard rock artist Kenny Dubman, “Old Dog” is a track from Dubman’s upcoming album Conflicted, releasing on April 29th. Dubman got his start in the ’80s, as a founding member of prog-rock band Prophet. Now, releasing material as a solo artist, Dubman shows a sound that blends emotive rock characteristic of the ’80s with a modern shine. The track excels especially as an excitable organ backing evolves into a series of melodic guitar lines, echoing Dubman’s prog-rock beginnings. The guitar-based vigor in the second half fully captivates, channeling a vein of classic-rock that’s timeless. “Old Dog” has me anticipating Conflicted in April, for certain.
