Kujo & Doyle – “Red Dice”

//

Chicago-based duo Kujo & Doyle concoct an intriguing, dark sound on post-apocalyptic new track “Red Dice.” Kujo Anakwa and Ryan Doyle deliver a fiercely passionate rock sound throughout. Driven initially by clanking percussion and ominous bass alongside industrial textural haunts, the track’s guitar-led rock raucousness is signaled by a vocal howl as the 50-second mark approaches. The vocal push and snarling guitar progression about 30 seconds thereafter reminds fondly of “Butt House Blondies” in tone. The track never lets go from there; while the vocals initially echo a post-punk brooding, the track shows itself as a decisively rock-forward delectable.

The track comes via the band’s new album, Dogs On Vacation, streaming below:

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of February 2022’ Spotify playlist.
