Behaviorist – “Fuck LA”

/

Behaviorist, the project of Stephen Rodes Chen, captivates with charismatic fervor throughout the new track “Fuck LA.” Touting enjoyable lyrical quips about LA’s waiting times and anxiety amidst the sunshine, the opening — bolstered by panting bass and rich string adornments — is seamlessly followed by consuming brass and guitar interplay past the one-minute mark. “I oughta just cancel plans before they’re made,” the vocals let out, capped off by the title-referencing hook. “While everyone’s relaxed with the sun shining on their face, I’m here like ‘fuck LA,'” drives into the suave brass tones and eerie washes of strings. The eventual backing vocal during the hook plays entrancingly, as does the roaring guitar and brass interplay in the final minute. “Fuck LA” is a captivating success from Behaviorist.

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of March 2022’ Spotify playlist.
