“Lightweight” is another success from Morisse Monty, featured last year with the track “Be Me.” The Belgian artist enthralls with a funk-tinged melding of pop and rock, driving from suave verses into a replay-inducing hook. Raspy, soulful vocals and a bass-heavy front craft inviting initial verses, expanding crisply with the addition of guitars and responsive vocal layers. “Even when I fall from grace, you’re catching me,” he concludes the hook with, fondly recalling Yves Tumor in aesthetic. An entrancing psych-friendly guitar line past the three-minute mark excels into a fully satiating conclusion. “Lightweight” continues a very strong run for Morisse Monty.

Per the artist, the track is “about me getting all my ducks in row before my first born arrives.” “Lightweight” represents the third single from Morisse Monty’s debut album.

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of March 2022’ Spotify playlist.
