Premiering today, “This Is Not The Bottom” is the infectious debut single from Needy Beast, reminiscent of Junior Boys’ stylish electro-pop — with an added guitar-laden bounce. The creeping synth-bass and playful guitar twangs lead into a calmly melodic vocal lead, gearing seamlessly into the catchy title-referencing hook. The bridge into the verses re-introduces the guitar-forward bounce, the track cohesively navigating an enjoyable line between synth-pop and glam-tinged rock. “This Is Not The Bottom” has me firmly anticipating what’s upcoming from Needy Beast.
The Los Angeles-based project is led by producer and multi-instrumentalist Adam Moerder, formerly of Mr. Dream and Fitness. The track comes via the upcoming Needy EP, releasing on April 15th.
